Garbage Collection
Day and Time: Please contact the City of Kingston for garbage collection. Garbage must be placed curb side by 6:00am., or you may miss pickup. Do not depend on a regular collection time: place your garbage out by 6:00am.
Restrictions: Put garbage in regular bags or containers. The maximum allowable weight for full bags or containers is 20 kilograms or 44 pounds. Heavier bags or containers will not be collected.
A two bag limit is in effect in the City of Kingston. Extra bags will be left behind with a sticker indicating why they were not picked up. To dispose of extra bags, you must mark them with special bag tags that can be purchased for $2.00 at the following locations:
- City Hall
- Counter Street Municipal Office
- Kingston Area Recycling Centre
- Bennett’s Valu-Mart
- Cataraqui Town Centre (Customer Care Booth)
- Kingston Mills Esso Station
All tenants are responsible for containing their own garbage until collection day. For more information regarding garbage collection please call City of Kingston Customer Service at 546-0000.
